Do you want to learn to use a computer? Are you looking at your iPhone wondering just what to do with it? We’ve got you covered.
Our technology program is the place to go with your adaptive technology (AT) questions. Ashley Moseley, one of our technology teachers, is a user of AT. She is blind and uses multiple screenreaders on a daily basis. Ashley can teach navigation of the computer (Microsoft Office programs, internet browsers, etc.) with screenreaders and can show iPhone users apps that can increase theirr ability to live independently.
Not having access to or knowing how to use adaptive technology can be a barrier to independent living.
People who have taken classes through Empower Tennessee say the knowledge they gained while in class has been instrumental in their ability to reach greater independence.
Technology classes are held in the on-site computer lab. To become enrolled in AT classes, please contact Ashley to discuss your unique AT needs and schedule classes.
