Paul Choquette became Programs Director at Empowered Tennessee in December of 2017. Paul has spent his entire career in Human Services working to further the independence of people with disabilities. He has spent the last ten years working for the Rhode Island, New Jersey and Tennessee Medicaid programs developing and overseeing Home and Community Based services options for people with disabilities and elders. Prior to that he was Care Manager at an in-patient rehabilitation facility where he counseled newly disabled individuals and provided assistance in establishing services needed to transition to the community. Paul is returning to his roots by coming to Empowered Tennessee as his first 10 years of his career was spent at a Center for Independent Living in Rhode Island where he learned the philosophy of Independent Living, which guides him to this day. Paul possesses a Master of Arts in Rehabilitation Counseling from Assumption College in Worcester, MA and in his spare time enjoys exploring his new home State of Tennessee with his wife and two dogs.
